Title:  Sr Project Manager

Primetals Technologies, a worldwide leading engineering and manufacturer of capital equipment for the steel making industry, known for our strengths in mechanical engineering, electronics, automation, manufacturing, project management and service is hiring for the following position:  Sr Project Manager

Location:  Alpharetta, GA                                                        Required Travel: 25%

Required Education: BS of Engineering or equivalent in related discipline or advanced degree. Proficiency in a foreign language an added plus. Project Management experience/certification

Position Overview:

The role of the Project Manager manages large, complex turnkey jobs or multiple projects from pre booking to customer acceptance. Supervises, directs and drives the project team during planning, estimating, design, installation, start up, commissioning, turnover and warranty of the assigned projects. Provides functional or business process leadership on most complex projects.Leads the continuous improvement opportunities. This role will ensure customer satisfaction during the project and at final project completion.

Duties in general to include:

The Project Manager will be assigned to multiple Projects, depending upon contract size and complexity. This role is responsible for performing the following duties on his/her assigned Projects:

• Key interface with customer for providing project solutions for very complex projects that range from process implementation to larger engineering construction projects. Projects may be both national and international.
• Directs project management design approach ( definition of schedule, budget, risk,quality and resource management.) This also includes oversight of contractual obligations, procurement negotiations, claim management, and minimizing risks such that the project execution is according to plan.
• Participates in pre bid reviews and sales to operations turnover meetings to evaluate accuracy of the sales estimate and job layout.
• May analyze plans, construction contract specifications and codes to implement project requirements.
• Follows up with appropriate management to assure understanding and satisfaction of job scope.
• Manages the development of project plans in advance of project activity assuring effective execution by the Project Team.
• Monitors progress to assure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.
• Utilizes financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs.
• Prepares or oversees preparation of progress billings, pursues timely payments from the customer and authorizes payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
• Participates in job site inspection and manages the onsite commissioning management.

Required Skills/Knowledge, Education and Experience:

• Required minimum 10-15 years’ project management experience in the steel industry or industrial projects.
• Turnkey projects execution / site management experience in steel industry is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of industry fundamentals and business operations.
• An understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these in managing assigned projects.
• PMP Certification is a plus, but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with people at all levels of the organization and facilitate the implementation of corrective action and best-practice sharing
