Primetals Technologies Poland Sp. z o.o. a Group Company of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, worldwide leading engineering, plant-building, and lifecycle partner for the metals industry is looking for specialists that will design PLC logic and intuitive operator interfaces (HMI/SCADA), support commissioning, and collaborate with international teams to deliver reliable, safe, high-performing systems at customer sites worldwide.

Programming Automation Engineer PLC / HMI

What you’ll do (Main responsibilities):

• Develop and maintain of PLC software for steel plant automation projects, spanning all phases from conceptual design through to final delivery

• Build clear, user-friendly HMI/SCADA visualizations that help operators run plants safely and efficiently
• Create and update technical documentation (software structure, IO lists, FAT/SAT notes, change logs)
• Read and analyze electrical schematics to troubleshoot issues and optimize system behavior
• Work closely with cross-functional, international teams (engineering, commissioning, customers) in English

What you bring (Requirements):

• Technical degree (or equivalent experience) in Automation, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Drives, or similar
• Hands-on programming skills with PLC systems (ideally Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley) and HMI platforms
• Solid understanding of industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP) and practical integration
• Strong analytical mindset: you can diagnose issues, test systematically, and document clearly
• Willingness to undertake worldwide travelling for engineering, on site commissioning and customer support activities 

Nice to have:    

• Experience with commissioning / startup of automation systems on-site
• Additional languages—especially German
