Title:  Product Engineer/Spec 2

Position: Product Engineer/Specialist 2 (Primetals Technologies USA LLC; 93 Gilmore Drive, Sutton, MA 01506)

Duties: Responsible for development of roll pass schedule, for hot rolling of ferrous and non-ferrous long products to produce the following: 1) Loading parameters for rolling mill equipment, i.e., separating forces, torques, powers; 2) Gear box ratios and corresponding torque capacities; 3) Select main mill motors; 4) Rolling Schedules, a road map used by operators of hot rolling mills to set the grooves and speeds of the rolling stands used to produce the metal deformation; and 5) Details for pass distribution drawings for the roll design. Responsible for development of FEA models to study metal deformation and resultant loads. Responsible for development of manuals for the operation of air-cooling conveyors required to produce metallurgical properties on semi-finished steel products.

Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Science or related field.

Minimum experience required: 3 years of experience in metals industry.

Skills required: Must have experience with: Experience in Solidworks 3D modelling. Experience in Finite Element Analysis. Experience in manufacturing technology and processes. Experience in metallurgy and thermodynamics. Experience in ISO standards. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
