Interior Technician

As an Interiors Technician, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.

• Adhere to MHIRJ General Work Requirements
• Comply with environmental health / safety policies / procedures.
• Perform work in a safe and timely manner.
• Install / refurbish / modify / aircraft interior equipment and furnishings.
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations required.
• Perform mechanical / electrical removals and installations.
• Perform inspection of identify parts needed and order the parts.
• Perform assigned duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES

• May assist with maintenance/open close activity.
• Clean aircraft and components as required.
• Assist in Continuous improvement initiatives. 

Here is what’s required to succeed as an Interiors Technician.

• Typically, 0 - 2 years interiors experience (i.e., installing / finishing upholstery, aircraft interiors, and / or interior fixtures etc.)
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Basic PC skills
• Ability to Inspect all interior components / related fixtures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status.
• Planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings (Preferred)
• Ability to train other employees (Preferred)
• Knowledge of aircraft interior repairs (Preferred)
• Knowledge of sewing/upholstery repairs (Preferred)
• Knowledge of time estimating (Preferred)
• Ability to develop new processes to reduce man-hours / material waste (Preferred)
• “A” Certification or Repairman certificate (Preferred)
