Manufacturing Estimator

As a Manufacturing Estimator, here is what you’ll be doing at the core, day to day.
· Exercises independent judgment and discretion with respect to significant matters affecting the business, examples include determining materials, labor, machine time and outsourced activities; provides customers with Firm, Fixed Price and Lead Times
· Exercises autonomy in producing timely and accurate quotes that support and align with financial goals of the business
· Coordinates with internal and external suppliers and materials personnel
· Works in fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
· Represents the manufacturing department cross-functionally
· Interprets drawings and manufacturing process
· Interfaces between multiple systems to meet business objectives
· Responsible for managing multiple cost estimates and quotes per week, tracking additional jobs in-work with suppliers
· Conducts in-depth cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
Here’s what is required to succeed as a Manufacturing Estimator.
· Bachelor’s degree plus 1-3 years related experience OR a High School diploma plus 5-7 years of experience in an aviation parts manufacturing environment OR an equivalent combination of education, experience and training
· Planning, critical thinking, and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate pricing on manufacturing steps for multiple parts simultaneously
· Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with sales team, material logistics team, suppliers, and other departments
· Typically, 1-year experience in inventory planning and procurement
· Continuous improvement program experience (preferred)
· Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field (preferred)
· Preferred certifications include CMA and CCP
