SCOPE:

The Strategy Analyst will support intern consulting projects that provide actionable, strategic recommendations based on detailed research and analysis. This role will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, guiding executive decision-making, and supporting high-impact transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to independently execute research and provide insights across consulting domains, including corporate and growth strategy, market intelligence, and M&A. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA’s long-term business objectives 

 

The ideal candidate will also have at least two (2) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or strategy group of a high-performing corporation.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain market fact base, including market sizing, growth forecasts, and demand drivers across priority markets and segments.
  • Execute primary and secondary research, including customer interviews, expert calls, survey execution, and structured synthesis of qualitative and quantitative inputs.
  • Develop competitive and industry intelligence, including competitor benchmarking, pricing comparisons, and ecosystem and value‑chain analyses.
  • Translate research and analysis into structured insights, clearly articulating implications, risks, and considerations to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Produce high‑quality analytical and presentation materials, including Excel-based analyses and executive‑ready slides, to support strategy projects and M&A-related efforts.
  • Support post-acquisition integration planning and management activities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or strategy group of a high-performing corporation
  • Demonstrated ability to independently execute market research using professional research tools (e.g., Capital IQ, AlphaSense, industry databases).
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and synthesize insights from diverse data sources
  • Experience developing competitive intelligence, including competitor benchmarking, pricing comparisons, or ecosystem analysis
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clean, executive‑ready analytical outputs.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Professional experience in industrial, data center, electrification, or technology sectors
  • Exposure to commercial due diligence or market studies
  • Experience coordinating expert networks

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel: 20%
  • Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late night work if applicable.
  • Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk and/or hear Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
