Based upon our business growth and internal promotions within the Metallurgical Services Off Line Maintenance Business Segment (MSM), we are looking to hire a Mechanical Drafter at our Canonsburg – PA Facility to meet the demands of our current workload! The ideal candidate will develop detailed drawings to support the steel mill maintenance business that provides services for the maintenance, reconditioning and manufacturing of continuous caster equipment, hot strip and cold mill components, and spare parts.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare specifications for factory equipment (CNC machines, Manual machines, Welding equipment) and compare bids and options.
• Write internal work procedures for the repair and manufacture of steel mill components.
• Interact with floor level supervisors and managers.
• Interface with online tools and software to track component metrics and make recommendations for improvement.
• Revise and create drawings using Auto Cad and Solid Edge.
• Prepares drawings of less complex, easily visualized parts, components, or equipment from sketches or marked-up prints.
• Copies and/or revises detail drawings of single units, parts, or components from verbal or written instructions, sketches, or prints. May consolidate detail from a number of sources, adjusts or transposes scale, or performs routine calculations.
• Able to travel to facility locations and customer sites when necessary. (5- 15%)

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge

• Associate degree from a Technical Training School in Design Drafting/Engineering or equivalent.
• Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering background would be a great asset.
• 2-5 years of experience.
• Proficient in AUTOCAD and Solid Edge software.
• Ability to work with other members in a group.
• Familiarity with the Metals Industry and Steel Mill related components, a plus.
