Technical Procurement Engineer

We are looking for a Technical Procurement/Manufacturing Support at our Canonsburg, PA location.  This position will report to the Director of Project Management. 

Responsibilities:

• Experienced with mechanical engineering & equipment manufacturing processes
• Participates in the product manufacturing and/or product development process in undertaking and pushing forward complex cost reduction measures (design to cost, target costing, standardization, key data, etc.) to achieve the target costs for materials and reduce the overall material costs.
• Provides complex support for projects in lines of business to provide optimum input for quotes, workshops, scope of material (BoM assessment) and realization of potential for savings.
• Obtain new suppliers and new technologies in the supply chain.
• Performs activities planned by the lines of business to harmonize and implement technological line-of-business strategies with procurement strategies
• Prepares sourcing decisions with interface partners to incorporate technological know-how and safeguard security strategies.
• Capable of understanding drawings and answering basic technical questions or getting the right answers from engineering –must be technical and knowledgeable of manufacturing methods
• Follow the manufacturers progress / schedule and help expedite parts on a project
• Manage Free issue parts on behalf of the organization (working with project teams & shops)
• Work with QA/QC group to schedule inspections
• Work with Logistics to support shipping of equipment

Education/Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

• Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Experience in equipment manufacturing methods and quality principals
• Five to eight years of combinations of fluids and Mechanical engineering experience within the metals industry
• Detailed knowledge of engineering principles and metals related equipment design
• Knowledge of computer systems associated with discipline including 2DAutoCad
