Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer III to join our team. This is an hybrid role based out of our Carrollton, TX office just outside of Dallas.

SCOPE:

The Manufacturing Engineer III will develop and optimize manufacturing processes for our modular electrical and mechanical systems. The Manufacturing Engineer III will ensure that our designs transition seamlessly into production while meeting demanding quality, cost, and delivery goals for hyperscale/colocation customers. This role will maximize efficiency by ensuring the optimization of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop manufacturing processes for modular electrical enclosures, cooling skids, generator housings, and other integrated systems.
  • Create work instructions, SOPs, and BOMs to enable repeatable, high-quality production.
  • Implement lean manufacturing techniques to improve throughput and reduce cost.
  • Support design for manufacturability (DFM) reviews with engineering teams.
  • Drive supplier quality and coordinate with contract manufacturers as needed.
  • Support factory testing protocols, including factory acceptance tests (FAT).
  • Stay informed on emerging manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, additive manufacturing).
  • Determine the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
  • Conduct time and cost analysis of processes, as needed.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing analysis of assembly, fabrication, machining, and other process needs.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Education Requirement: B.A or in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing engineering experience in electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing documentation and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience is designing Manufacturing lines and processes in assistance to Manufacturing vendors

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 7+ years’ experience in data center equipment manufacturing or industrial modular systems.
    • Experience with prefabrication, skid assembly, or containerized solutions.
    • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel %: 20%
  • Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late night work if applicable.
  • Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
