Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Strategy Consultant to join our team. This is a hybrid/remote role based out of our Plano, Texas, location.

SCOPE:
The Strategy Consultant will support internal consulting projects that provide actionable, strategic recommendations based on detailed research and analysis. This role will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, guiding executive decision-making, and supporting high-impact transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to work across consulting domains, with a strong foundation in market research and commercial strategy. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA’s long-term business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or strategy group of a high-performing corporation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Execute and lead workstreams across a broad range of strategy projects, including market studies, competitive assessments, pricing analyses, go‑to‑market strategy, and M&A support.
- Conduct and synthesize market and customer research, including Voice of Customer/Voice of Market initiatives, expert interviews, and survey analysis.
- Develop rigorous, fact‑based analyses that integrate market, competitive, and commercial insights to support strategic recommendations.
- Translate research and analysis into clear implications and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Support M&A activities, including target scans, commercial due diligence, and strategic fit analysis.
- Own recurring market intelligence reporting and forecasting, ensuring insights remain current and decision‑relevant.
- Develop executive‑ready presentations and materials and support the development of junior team members through day‑to‑day project work.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or strategy group of a high-performing corporation.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and synthesize insights from diverse data sources.
- Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy (e.g., customer segmentation, pricing, GTM, value proposition assessment).
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills; able to translate insights into recommendations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Proficient in secondary market research methods and tools (e.g., Capital IQ, AlphaSense, industry databases).
- Ability to independently design, manage, and analyze primary research, including expert interviews and surveys.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clean, executive‑ready analytical outputs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience in industrial, data center, electrification, or technology sectors
- Experience managing workstreams and junior team members.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel: 20%
- Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late-night work if applicable.
- Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk, and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
