Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Senior Strategy Consultant to join our team. This is a hybrid role based out of our Plano, Texas location.

SCOPE:
The Senior Strategy Consultant will lead and execute internal consulting projects that provide actionable, strategic recommendations based on detailed research and analysis. This role will be instrumental in identifying growth opportunities, guiding executive decision-making, and supporting high-impact transactions. The ideal candidate will be able to work across consulting domains, including corporate and growth strategy, market intelligence, and M&A. This position collaborates with global stakeholders across Japan and the U.S. to align priorities, enable effective execution, and support MHIA’s long-term business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have at least four (4) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy group of a high-performing corporation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and execute a broad portfolio of internal strategy projects, including market studies, competitive assessments, Voice of Customer/Market initiatives, pricing analyses, and go‑to‑market strategy.
- Independently drive M&A and portfolio strategy workstreams, including target screening, initial commercial due diligence, valuation modeling, and development of value‑creation and synergy hypotheses.
- Translate market, industry, and financial analyses into clear strategic recommendations, framing tradeoffs and implications to support executive decision‑making.
- Develop rigorous, fact‑based, quantitative analyses that integrate market, commercial, and financial insights.
- Support post‑acquisition integration planning, including defining strategic priorities and value‑capture initiatives in partnership with cross‑functional teams.
- Coordinate and align stakeholders across functions and geographies to drive high‑quality project outcomes.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, setting analytical standards and ensuring executive‑ready deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of experience in corporate strategy, market analysis, or business development at a recognized strategy consulting firm, investment bank, or corporate strategy group of a high-performing corporation
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing workstreams and junior team members.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct market sizing, competitive analysis, and synthesize insights from diverse data sources
- Proven experience in M&A transactions (e.g., valuation, commercial diligence, value creation, integration)
- Analytical and financial modeling skills (DCF, pro forma, synergy cases).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
- Proficient in both primary and secondary market research tools and methods, including familiarity with professional research tools (e.g., Capital IQ, AlphaSense, industry databases).
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to produce clean, executive‑ready analytical outputs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Professional experience in industrial, data center, electrification, or technology sectors
- Experience leading end-to-end strategy projects
- Ability to independently design, manage, and analyze primary research, including expert interviews and surveys.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Travel: 40%
- Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late-night work, if applicable.
- Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk, and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
