Purpose of the job:

The Project Development Associate is expected to support the Energy Transition Business in EMEA region by identifying project development opportunities in the field of hydrogen and PtX production infrastructure and driving projects forward until FID and beyond working as part of the project development team.

 

For this challenging mission we are looking forward to expanding our team with a Project Development Associate:   

 

Key tasks:

  • Support the origination and technology teams in the creation of project concepts and identification of development partners and translate them into project development opportunities
  • Evaluate, screen and apraise development opportunities considering technical, commercial, and financial feasibility aspects.
  • Structure and frame the development opportunities to create successful project concepts in terms of business and financing plans, technical plans and project management best practices and drive their implementation through the full project life cycle.
  • Propose,negotiate and execute co-development partnerships (LoIs, MoUs, JDAs and Joint Ventures) and remain the main contact person to the partner’s counterparts during project implementation
  • Support project managers in setting up, evaluating, selecting, and executing solid contracting strategies and remain together with project managers the key contact person to contractors.
  • Plan and execute stakeholder management strategies including internal stakeholders such as MHI management and group companies and external stakeholders such as contractors, public administrations, power suppliers and offtakers
  • Drive project value assurance processes with internal (i.e.: decision making management) and external stakeholders (i.e.: financial and funding institutions)

 

Key skills:

  • You can take an owner’s perspective by understanding project goals and translating them into development plans.
  • As such, you are skilled to lead project development from idea/concept to financial close by following a Front End and assurance process approach.
  • You are a results-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and in a cross-functional position within internal organization and external partners
  • You have social and intercultural competence as well as a confidence for interfacing with project partners, contractors, and senior management
  • Ability to motivate, and manage yourself proactively, managing workload and decision making through contact with appropriate team members when required.

 

Experience:

  • You have a finance, economics, management, or engineering degree
  • You have 3 to 5 years’ experience working in process, power or renewables industry either in the development of capital projects or supporting development at engineering contractor side
  • Experience in the green hydrogen sector is appreciated but not mandatory

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week (hybrid model)
