Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with the department’s standard procedures.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, control panels, circuits, and lighting fixtures, to ensure smooth operation and prevent breakdowns.
  • Troubleshooting: Utilize your technical expertise to diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues promptly, employing diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Equipment Repair: Conduct repairs and replacements of components and equipment as necessary, minimizing downtime and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing machinery and systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Implement preventive maintenance programs for systems and equipment, conducting inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to prevent failures and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Maintenance Support: Provide support for general maintenance activities, including HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems, collaborating with maintenance teams to address facility-related issues comprehensively.
  • Service Contractor Management: Maintain contact with site service contractors to manage projects, costs, downtime, preventative maintenance, work completion, etc.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and inventory of spare part components, updating maintenance logs and documentation systems as required, while also maintain the preventative maintenance log and schedule for all equipment.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, HSE, and continuous improvement to support facility-related initiatives and contribute to the resolution of maintenance challenges.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures, to troubleshoot and restore operations safely, minimizing disruptions to production schedules.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the facility, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to optimize maintenance workflows and maximize equipment reliability.

Requirements

 

 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electrical systems and maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Proven experience in maintenance roles, with a focus on electrical and mechanical systems and equipment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, components, and maintenance practices, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex issues effectively.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, meters, and testing equipment to assess and maintain equipment accurately.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to electrical work, including lockout/tagout protocols and arc flash safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet maintenance objectives.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to collaborate with colleagues across departments and levels of the organization to achieve maintenance goals.

  • Technical School Degree a plus.
  • Certified electrician, HVAC, plumbing certifications a plus
  • IT skills – Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability.
  • Good Communication skills with supervisor, engineer and peers.
  • Mechanical and Shop Safety knowledge.
  • Able to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form. 
  • Understand and follow all company policies and procedures.
