Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for an IT Project Assistant to join our team. This is a role based out of our Houston, TX Office.

SCOPE:
The IT Assistant will support the overall IT strategy, governance, and service by ensuring alignment with the HQ IT department and IT shared services in the US region. This position handles all IT-related requests and operations in accordance with the parent company and affiliate requirements, serving as a regional liaison. Additionally, the role supports the HQ IT director and IT department management group while also adhering to MHI Group’s global policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
· To do exceptional communication with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization, not only in the USA but also Japan
· Perform IT administration-level work for USA and Japan-based information technology systems
· Manage and keep inventory of IT resources (User IDs, IT devices, IT security devices, etc.)
· Perform day-to-day work in alignment with parent company direction and cooperation with USA IT team
· Provide IT user support in collaboration with USA and Japan IT support team
· Assist with IT related cost management activities which can include invoicing/billing and service charge management in cooperation with accounting/finance departments
· Championing a positive team spirit and culture built on integrity, inclusion, transparency and accountability
· Establish and maintain succession, continuity and career path progression development plans for all team members built on the foundation of the people development vision
· Provide cross-site and cross affiliate support, including remote sites as required
· Ability to create documentation such as, but not limited to: SOPs, How to and Process Training, etc.

· Protect confidential information by not communicating, disclosing to, or using for benefit of third parties
· Perform other related duties, as directed by IT Leadership team
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree (BS) from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience: At least four (4) years of related experience for a Japanese manufacturing company
· Any special skills/training/certifications:
o Required language proficiency: English, Japanese
o Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, especially Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
o Advanced knowledge of PC software and hardware configurations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Microsoft Office Specialist/Microsoft Office Master
· Knowledge of Excel Macro
· Experience with IT company
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Travel: Up to 10% by land and/or air
· Fully onsite
· Standard Monday through Friday work week.
· Weekend/late night work if applicable: ~10%
· Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
