Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, Inc. (MHIA) is looking for a Marketing and Communications Specialist to join our team. This is an onsite role based out of our headquarters in Houston, TX in the Galleria district.

SCOPE:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist will take ownership of a variety of exciting internal communications initiatives and event projects including planning, logistics, execution and reporting. This role also involves creating graphic design materials, coordinating internal communications, and preparing reports. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will exercise strong project management, customer service skills, proficiency in graphic design, and great time management to support branding efforts through internal campaigns, creative content, and event experiences that connect our teams and support our business objectives.
The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design, with a strong portfolio to match.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support marketing and communications programs aligned with corporate initiatives, with a focus on building brand awareness and strengthening the reputation of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and its Group Companies across North America.
- Assist in the planning, development, and execution of internal and external marketing campaigns, events, and conferences—ensuring seamless coordination and successful delivery.
- Provide on-site support for selected events, manage booth and logistics needs, maintain timelines, and keep stakeholders informed with regular updates.
- Manage and maintain a well-organized marketing asset library to ensure brand resources are accessible, current, and easy to use.
- Develop and distribute internal communications—like newsletters, announcements, and company updates—that are timely, engaging, and on-brand.
- Assist in creating impactful marketing materials, both print (brochures, signage, postcards) and digital (social media content, animations, trailers), ensuring high quality and brand consistency.
- Prepare departmental reports and dashboards that showcase key metrics and insights, enabling transparency and data-driven decisions.
- Champion the MHIA brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
- Assist with other marketing communications activities as needed to support business strategy.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or related field from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in marketing, communications, or graphic design, with a strong portfolio to match.
- Creative skills and technical proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator required.
- Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- A proactive mindset with a bias for action—if you see a problem, you’re already thinking of a solution.
- Experience organizing both virtual and in-person events.
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a collaborative spirit and customer-focused approach.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late night work if applicable.
- Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
