SCOPE:

As a Sr. IT Project Manager, you will serve as the lead implementation expert on projects required by our Affiliates and Internal IT projects.  As successful Sr. IT Project Manager is regarded by Affiliates and peers as a trusted business advisor who collaborates to provide innovative solutions used to solve the most challenging business challenges.  You will work on projects that integrate strategy, process, technology, and information to increase effectiveness, reduce costs and improve profit.  You will take advantage of opportunities to master new skills, work across different disciplines, move into new challenges and develop a robust understanding of different MHI businesses. You will also be collaborating heavily with the MHI GEMS team for the implementation of S4 HANA across the American affiliates (upgrading and/or migrating to SAP from an existing ERP).  This role is expected to cultivate strong business relationships, manage expectations, and mitigation escalations.  Be an active collaborator across all IT and affiliates alike

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead and control activities for Affiliates and/or internal IT projects, having responsibility for financial management, communications, best project management method (agile, waterfall, hybrid etc.), project schedule creation/maintenance, test plans, issue logs and ensuring all technical requirements are met;
  • Create partnerships with vendors to obtain clear understanding of available technology and aid in vendor management;
  • Identifying and interfacing with all key stakeholders;
  • Ensure technical infrastructure architecture satisfies all requirements;
  • Form the right project teams with members of various departments and plan the improvement projects, accordingly, identifying the correct owners along the way;
  • Schedule and assign project related work to team members, monitor progress and resolve discrepancies to ensure compliance with work/quality standards and contract/task order requirements;
  • Lead all functionality design, planning, testing, implementation and post-production tasks;
  • Monitor service desk ticketing system and spearhead prioritization/troubleshooting of all project related issues, follow up with assigned team member to ensure timely resolution of problems;
  • Advanced background in leading System Enhancements with regards to SAP, CRM (Dynamics), SharePoint SPO, RFQ’s and managing them through development;
  • Advanced documentation creation skills in process documents.
  • Define, Stage, Analyze and Report on business relevant data, identifies trends/risks and proposes mitigation opportunities;
  • Develop training material (as needed) for ‘lunch-n-learn’ topics, new process implementation, new application implementation, train the trainer, etc;
  • Impeccable judgement and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced dynamic setting;

  • Provide cross-site and cross affiliate support, including remote sites as required;
  • Contribute to building a positive team spirit and ONETEAM culture while embodying the Team Values daily;

  • Perform other related duties, as directed by IT Leadership team.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

 

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree (BS) from four-year college or university; in a field related to technology, such as Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Software Engineering or Cyber Security.

 

  • Experience: At least seven (7) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Progressive IT experience showing increasing responsibility is preferred.  Experience in Manufacturing is preferred. 

 

  • Any special skills/training/certifications:
    • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical team members, at all levels in the organization;
    • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with advanced communication skills and demonstrated ability to foster teamwork;
    • Certifications are a plus in Project Management (PMP), Lean/ Six Sigma (e.g., Lean Master, Lean Expert, Black Belt, etc.), ITIL and/or Customer Service. 
    • Advanced technical experience project managing system integration, design, development, testing, implementation, integration, operations and/or project management of complex
    • computer systems and/or computer facilities operation. 
    • Requires advanced competence in all phases of project management. Must be able to effectively employ contemporary project management tools.
    • Requires advanced experience in handling large scale, complex implementations.
    • Ability to provide technical management/leadership on major tasks and technology assignments.
    • Ability to establish goals and plans that meet or exceed project objectives.
    • Advanced knowledge of available hardware/software, system integration techniques, network management and project management practices. 
    • Demonstrates ability to work independently based on the strategic plan or under general direction. 
    • Advanced knowledge of Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project) is required.
    • Intermediate knowledge of SAP, CRM (Dynamics), Windchill, SharePoint SPO, MS Project or experience with other Project Management software, is highly desired.
    • Novice knowledge of infrastructure, networking and cloud (Azure) environments is preferred.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Travel: Up to 40% by land and/or air.
  • Weekend/late night work if applicable: Support nights and weekends to provide quick support when required. 
  • Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long period, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee’s working environment may be loud.  The employee may be required to adhere to the Customer safety procedures including but not limited to, the use of personal protection equipment (hardhat, safety glasses, goggles, hearing and fall protection).
