SCOPE:

Through the years and continuing through today, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America Corrugating Machinery Division (CMD) serves the growing, dynamic packaging industry with leading edge equipment systems, sales, parts, technical and field support, making it one of the most respected suppliers to converters in North and Central America.  

 

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales and business development for the organization’s corrugating machinery products within an assigned territory. This role involves engaging with prospective and existing customers to understand their equipment needs, presenting product solutions, negotiating contracts, and ensuring seamless project execution from order placement to equipment installation. The Regional Sales Manager will also monitor market trends and competitive offerings while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Receive and review requests for product information from customers and prospects. Communicate via email, phone, or in person to gather expectations and requirements for equipment solutions.
  • Conduct customer site visits, assess facility needs, and deliver presentations on product offerings.
  • Measure customer facilities and create detailed sketches. Collaborate with factory personnel to confirm machine requirements and specifications.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to successfully close sales agreements.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with MHIA personnel to ensure equipment is built to customer specifications and promptly address any production-related issues.
  • Monitor project management schedules to track delivery, setup, and installation of sold equipment.
  • Coordinate approvals between MHIA and customers.
  • Collaborate with MHIA project management staff to develop project timelines, assign responsibilities to staff, vendors, and contractors, and ensure efficient installation processes.
  • Maintain communication with customers and MHIA to address and resolve any issues throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Verify accuracy of invoicing, track payments, and ensure proper execution of acceptance documents by customers to complete the delivery process.
  • Stay informed on competitive products in the marketplace, analyzing competitors’ offerings and providing insights to management regarding domestic market trends and sales opportunities.
  • Recommend and coordinate product improvements to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Efficiently organize your schedule to maximize customer engagement and sales opportunities while ensuring cost-effective travel arrangements, including lodging and transportation, in alignment with departmental budget guidelines.
  • Conduct Specification meetings for confirmation that the machine is built to customer requirements and accurately relay this information to MHI Japan.
  • Represent the organization at local, regional, and national trade shows, industry events, and other networking opportunities to promote products and generate leads.
  • Assist existing customers in resolving issues with installed equipment and ensure products meet their own expectations.

 MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial machinery, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Strong technical understanding of corrugating machinery or similar industrial equipment.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain customer relationships, negotiate contracts, and close sales.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Travel: Up to 80% travel
  • Standard Monday through Friday work week. Weekend/late night work when applicable: 10%
  • Lifting/physical requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, talk and/or hear. Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation: 

  • The pay range for this position is $110,000 to $135,000.  The actual wage offered depends on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, and qualifications.
