Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking an Associate – Engineering Operations (Internship)
SUMMARY
This internship position will support the Engineering Operations Team in the planning and coordination of project scheduling and activities for Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine and Combined Cycle Equipment Projects. Moreover, the position will assist with process improvements associated with the project planning and preparation.
The intern will be integrated and work side by side with the various engineering execution & proposal teams and will get daily or longer-term assignments based on their capabilities. As part of the internship, the individual will learn the business processes at Mitsubishi Power, and the tools and processes used in the development of engineering operations planning.
The position requires the ability to quickly comprehend and independently work on assignments, and to complete the assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
It is Mitsubishi Power’s goal to train the intern to be ready for a full-time position with Mitsubishi Power upon graduation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Group Managers, Execution and Applications engineering with short term and long-term work assignments and achieve the required results in a timely fashion and with high quality. Tasks may include:

Schedule development and template creation

Performance tracking coordination of activities/schedule

Process improvements
-
Data base support
-
Other duties may be required from time to time by the company

It is expected that the intern can work on the assigned tasks independently and with minimum supervision

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education and/or Experience: The candidate must be in pursuit of a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or other Technical Degrees

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: Fluent in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat Writer, Excel and Word minimum).
