Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lak Mary, FL is seeking an NGS Project Operations Associate (Internship). 

 

SUMMARY

 

The NGS Project Operations Associate (PMO Planning) Intern will provide support to the Project Management Office (PMO) in standardizing and sustaining project execution processes for New Generation Systems (NGS) commercial contracts. This role is designed for an engineering student or recent graduate seeking practical experience in project lifecycle management, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration within a technical environment.
This role reports to the Director of PMO Process & Planning within the Project Operations Department. Ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills, an interest in systems-level thinking, and the ability to communicate effectively across technical and business stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Ensure all corporate core values are at the center of all actions.

  • Assist in organizing and refining project SOPs and Work Instructions by collaborating with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to help ensure consistency and alignment across NGS Project Lifecycle processes. May support or lead the communication and training to team members in the rollout.

  • Assist in improving project communication workflows by working alongside Project Managers and cross-functional team members to help ensure accurate and timely transfer of data, status updates, and key deliverables across the Power Generation organization.

  • Assist in the development, revision, and organization of technical documentation such as Job Aids, Work Instructions, Training Materials, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) used to guide the execution of complex engineering projects.

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of PMO frameworks and tools that enable consistent execution of NGS projects.

  • Contribute to the development and deployment of the Project Manager (PM) Standardized Training, Certification, and Development Program by helping gather requirements, coordinate content, and track progress.

  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Field Services teams to gain exposure to full project lifecycle workflows and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

 

  • Education and/or Experience: Student in a B.S. Mechanical, Aerospace, Construction, Industrial or, Computer Science Engineering program at a University.

  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Logically summarize inspection and work scope information for on-going projects.

  • Computer Skills: Knowledge in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat Writer, Excel, etc.). Knowledge of databases, project management, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, Tableau, Oracle Primavera P6, Power Apps, Power Automate, and/or Microsoft Project is preferred but not required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level when visiting the jobsite work environment is usually moderate to loud. Hearing protection is recommended and/or required in those work locations.
