Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is looking for a Business Excellence Associate (INTERNSHIP).

 

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

 

  • MUST be currently Enrolled in a bachelor’s Program in Industrial Engineering but open to other degrees based on experience/background. Juniors and Seniors preferred.

 

  • Work Schedule:  During School need to be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during business hours and can work up to 28 hours a week Max if a fit for the Student and During Breaks can be up to 40 hours a week if open to working during Breaks. (we will work around your school schedule and Finals).

 

  • Length of Internship: 4 months minimum up to 1 year preferred.

 

  • Location:  Must be able to start as soon as needed and be able to come into the Lake Mary, Office.

 

SUMMARY

 

The New Generation Systems (NGS) Business Excellence team is responsible for our NGS Strategic Process & Quality Improvement initiatives supporting the organization’s vision and operational objectives.

 

The Business Excellence Associate will provide analysis, oversight, and support the development and implementation of process improvements across New Generation Systems (NGS).

 

Key tasks in process improvement work include but are not limited to, mapping business processes, identifying process improvement opportunities, completing gap analysis, generating standard operating procedures, communicating with stakeholders and process owners and facilitating meetings.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

    • Supports the documentation of business processes, including flow charts, Standard Operating Procedures and Working Instructions.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement and proposes solutions.
    • Participates in and supports efforts to identify and prioritize requirements for enhancement/implementation in support of quality and productivity processes for NGS.
    • Supports the monitoring and reporting of NGS business results & quality metrics.
    • Recommends process improvements based on data analysis findings.
    • Leads process improvement initiatives as directed.
    • Analyzes and reports business relevant data.
    • Perform other such duties as may be required.

  • Education and/or Experience: Junior or Senior completing an Industrial Engineering bachelor’s degree preferred, other degrees will be considered based on experience/background of applicant.

 

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

 

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.

 

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve under supervision practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations where data exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software. Need to be proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with PowerBI, SharePoint and Visio a Plus but not required.

 

  • Soft skills: Organized self-starter who can clearly and concisely communicate with a variety of stakeholders. Time management and planning are essential skills for fulfilling job responsibilities.
