Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is looking for a Director, Business Excellence - New Generation Systems.  This position will be based at the Headquarters in Lake Mary, FL.

SUMMARY

 

Provides leadership and directs activities to support the analysis, oversight and implementation of all business process metrics and data record keeping, reporting directly to the SVP New Generation Systems. Lead efforts to conduct periodic review of NGS operations by establishing rhythm of assembling and reporting data on key performance indicators.  Continually seeks to identify and refine appropriate measures of NGS success in meeting business objectives and customer satisfaction.  Implement process improvements through application of a variety of analysis and improvement methods including Six Sigma and statistics.  Drive the organization in fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead efforts to document and train business processes to drive clear divisions of responsibility and clear standard methodologies.
  • Drive “best practices” in all areas of responsibility.
  • Lead efforts in cross department coordination activities.
  • Lead efforts to identify, modify and implement information system tools/Business Improvement initiatives that enhance the quality and/or productivity of department processes.  In particular, seek ways to incorporate potential benefits of Windchill system, S&OP tools and SAP existing and future developments.  Prioritize initiatives by developing business plans and ROI’s for respective requests.
  • Lead and provide direction to business process engineers to accomplish the mission of continuous improvement of NGS processes and tools.
  • Monitor and report NGS business & quality metrics.
  • Champion and provide follow up to improvement events targeted towards increasing operational performance consistent with the business plan.
  • Communicate with various levels of the organization regarding strategy, plans, events, and results of improvement initiatives.
  • Implement and validate process improvement of established work processes throughout the organization
  • Recommend process improvements based on data analysis findings.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Establish metrics reporting package.
  • Develop and maintain a system to capture and store operational effectiveness data.
  • Analyze and report business relevant data.
  • Lead NGS department operational reviews, assisting department leaders with accurate and reliable data.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, or related field or at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ideal candidate will have six sigma quality system and/or statistical analysis training.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, financial statements, technical procedures.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures such as mean, standard deviation, proportions, percentages.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and statistics.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: medium to advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, data manipulation, analysis software.
