Role Overview

The Director, Chief of Staff Operations serves as a senior leader within the Office of the President, responsible for enabling disciplined execution, operational excellence, and enterprise coordination across CEO- and President-sponsored priorities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Chief of Staff (SVP CoS), this role acts as a force multiplier for the Office of the President by translating strategic direction into execution-ready plans, managing operating cadence, and ensuring follow-through across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

 

The Director, Chief of Staff Operations operates with a high degree of judgment and autonomy, representing the Office of the President with senior leaders and key stakeholders as delegated. This role directly manages one or more Managers or Senior Managers and is accountable for developing talent, driving performance, and embedding strong operating discipline across assigned initiatives and workstreams.

Office of the President Operations & Executive Enablement

  • Support the SVP Chief of Staff in leading the Office of the President, ensuring effective day-to-day operations, prioritization, and execution rigor.
  • Act as a delegate and representative of the SVP CoS in internal leadership forums, decision meetings, and cross-functional engagements.
  • Own and manage assigned CEO- and President-sponsored initiatives that require enterprise coordination, discretion, and structured execution.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously improve elements of the enterprise operating cadence, including meeting architecture, decision tracking, and action management.
  • Oversee preparation of executive materials, briefings, dashboards, and communications to ensure clarity, quality, and timeliness.

 

Strategic Alignment & Enterprise Execution

  • Translate strategic priorities set by the President, CEO, and SVP CoS into actionable plans, milestones, and success metrics.
  • Drive alignment across business and strategic (staff) functions for assigned enterprise initiatives, ensuring clear accountability and outcomes.
  • Monitor progress, risks, dependencies, and performance indicators, escalating issues and recommendations to the SVP CoS as appropriate.
  • Support enterprise planning, goal setting, and execution management processes led by the Office of the President.

 

Business Initiatives & Special Projects

  • Lead or oversee complex, cross-functional initiatives such as transformations, integrations, operating model enhancements, and capability builds.
  • Establish governance structures, workplans, and reporting mechanisms for assigned initiatives.
  • Partner closely with business leaders and functional executives to ensure initiatives are properly resourced and executed.
  • Ensure disciplined follow-through on decisions, commitments, and actions arising from executive forums.

 

Stakeholder, Executive & Board Support

  • Support preparation and coordination of materials for Executive Leadership Team and Board meetings, including agendas, presentations, and follow-up actions.
  • Track and manage decisions, commitments, and action items to ensure accountability and closure.
  • Represent the Office of the President with senior leaders and stakeholders on assigned topics, maintaining credibility, discretion, and alignment.

 

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Directly manage and develop at least one Manager or Senior Manager within the Office of the President.
  • Set clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards for direct reports.
  • Coach and mentor team members to build enterprise thinking, executive readiness, and execution excellence.
  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and results-oriented culture within the Office of the President.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in strategy, operations, management consulting, executive support, or comparable roles. Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives and leading cross-functional, enterprise-level initiatives. Proven people leadership experience, including managing Managers or Senior Managers. Strong track record of driving execution, governance, and results in complex organizational environments.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capability; able to translate strategy into execution.
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization, and operating discipline. Executive-level written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • High judgment, discretion, and integrity in handling sensitive matters. Ability to influence without direct authority and work effectively across senior leadership teams. Deep understanding of organizational dynamics, decision-making, and governance processes.
  • Reliable, trusted partner to senior leadership. Proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating in ambiguity. Detail-oriented while maintaining an enterprise-level perspective.
