Director, IT - ERP
Lake Mary, FL, US, 32746

Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc., in Lake Mary/Orlando, Florida, is looking for a Director of IT – ERP.
Company Overview
At Mitsubishi Power, we're not just building better clean energy technologies; we're architecting a better future. Our team is boldly redefining power generation to accelerate the world's energy transition. We operate as one team, pushing toward our vision of the future. We value problem solvers, prioritize collaboration, and support each other in an inclusive culture built on accountability and authenticity by demonstrating our values: Safety, Family, Innovative, Inclusive, Accountable & Courageous. Together, we're building the future we all aspire to – making net zero a reality.
Mitsubishi Power Americas designs, manufactures, installs, and provides long-term service for high-value natural gas & steam power generation turbines and integrated energy systems across the Americas. With a substantial installed base and multi-decade service agreements, our business depends on a resilient, modern ERP backbone that connects manufacturing, project installation, field service, supply chain, and finance at enterprise scale.
Having completed the foundational upgrade from SAP ECC 6.0, we are now entering a high-impact phase: deploying new S/4HANA functionality and modules, modernizing our data and integration architecture, and embedding AI-driven capabilities into day-to-day operations. We are seeking a dynamic leader of ERP Technology to own this platform and lead its evolution.
Role Overview
The Director of IT ERP is the senior technology leader accountable for the strategy, architecture, deployment, and ongoing operation of the S/4HANA platform and its surrounding enterprise application ecosystem (SAP BTP, SAP Ariba, data and integration services). This leader will drive a clean-core, low-customization strategy, sequence and deliver new module deployments post-ECC migration, lead a team of 12 internal professionals, and govern an Application Management Services (AMS) agreement with a global delivery partner. The role also champions next-generation AI and agentic capabilities (e.g., MCP-based integrations, AI coding agents) to raise the productivity and intelligence of the platform.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can set architectural direction, make defensible build-vs-extend-vs-configure decisions, and translate business priorities in manufacturing, installation, and long-term service into a coherent ERP roadmap including supply chain and financial processes.
Critically, this leader is accountable for business outcomes, not just system delivery. As ERP shifts from transaction execution toward intent-driven, AI-supervised, policy-governed execution, the role acts as the platform's product owner and evangelist, forges executive-level alignment, and actively shapes — not just supports — enterprise strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Business Outcome Ownership & Executive Leadership
- Own measurable business outcomes across core ERP value streams (procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report), taking accountability for results rather than activities.
- Serve as Product Owner for the S/4HANA platform — owning the vision, backlog, and roadmap, and prioritizing investment by business value and outcome.
- Act as evangelist for S/4HANA solutions and future capabilities — and for SAP Ariba — building awareness, adoption, and enthusiasm across business and IT.
- Build strong executive leadership ties, align the ERP roadmap to company strategy, and actively influence that strategy as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.
- Lead the operating-model shift from configuration and execution toward governance, supervision, and policy-driven (intent-based) execution as AI and agentic capabilities mature, redefining roles and accountabilities accordingly.
- Operate as a versatile leader — pairing deep SAP and domain expertise with the ability to define intent, supervise AI-driven outcomes, and govern how policies translate into system behavior.
ERP Strategy & Architecture
- Own the S/4HANA platform roadmap, sequencing the deployment of new functions and modules following the ECC 6.0 upgrade.
- Make and govern architectural decisions across S/4HANA, SAP BTP, Ariba, and the data layer, balancing speed, cost, supportability, and long-term maintainability.
- Drive a clean-core strategy: systematically reduce custom code and in-core modifications, moving extensions and custom logic onto SAP BTP and side-by-side patterns.
Module & Functional Deployment
- Lead the design, build, test, and go-live of new S/4HANA modules and capabilities aligned to manufacturing, project/installation, field service, supply chain, and finance needs.
- Partner with business process owners to convert requirements into standard-first solutions, minimizing bespoke development.
- Establish disciplined release management, environment strategy, and cutover governance.
- Lead the deployment of SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) as the supply chain planning system of record — an active multi-phase program covering demand planning, S&OP, and inventory optimization for MPWA's business. Govern the IBP program on the IT side and chair or sponsor the IBP Center of Excellence.
- Own SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) deployment and cutover for main campus operations.
- Evaluate and sequence a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) deployment aligned to manufacturing operations maturity. The MES platform decision is pending; this role owns the vendor-agnostic evaluation, the S/4HANA integration architecture, and phased rollout as a long-term roadmap initiative.
- Own the Field Service Management (FSM) platform strategy for outage and LTSA/LTMA service execution — evaluating options in the context of Salesforce as the confirmed CRM platform and determining the right FSM architecture for MPWA's service delivery model.
Platform Extensions & Integration (SAP BTP / BTM, Ariba, AI, Data)
- Leverage SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for extensions, custom apps, automation, and integration — keeping the digital core clean.
- Use BTP-based transformation/modernization practices to govern how and where the business extends standard SAP.
- Own enterprise integration strategy across SAP and non-SAP systems (PLM, MES, FSM, BI, CRM, DataLake, MCP, third-party logistics and customer systems).
- Own architectural and deployment decisions for SAP Ariba, integrating source-to-pay processes cleanly with S/4HANA and supplier ecosystems.
- Advance AI and agentic capabilities across the SAP estate — including Model Context Protocol (MCP)–based integrations and AI coding/automation agents (e.g., Joule) — to accelerate development, support, and operational efficiency.
- Pilot and scale practical AI use cases (intelligent support, automated testing, code generation, document and master-data automation) with clear ROI and governance.
- Define and govern the S/4HANA data architecture, including the modern data layer (SAP Datasphere / SAP Business Data Cloud) for analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption.
- Establish standards for data quality, master data governance, and a single source of truth across the application landscape.
- Own the activation and governance of SAP Signavio for business process intelligence - a direct enabler of the clean-core program.
- Govern the WalkMe digital adoption platform — supporting end-user onboarding, productivity, and change management across the SAP landscape.
- Govern the Salesforce-to-S/4HANA integration architecture as the enterprise CRM integration layer — ensuring clean, maintainable connectivity via SAP BTP Integration Suite.
Investing in our People & Services
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 12 internal resources spanning functional, technical, data, and integration disciplines.
- Set objectives, manage performance, build career paths, and cultivate a standard-first, accountability-driven engineering culture.
- Build succession plan for key roles with solid development plans of Individual Contributors
- Govern the Application Management Services (AMS) agreement with a global delivery provider for day-to-day support operations.
- Manage SLAs, service quality, throughput, escalation, and cost; hold the partner accountable to outcomes while integrating their work with internal delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (Master's/MBA a plus).
- Experience in heavy manufacturing, power generation, EPC/installation, or long-term service (LTSA / field service) environments.

- 12+ years in enterprise IT, with 5+ years in senior SAP leadership roles.
- Proven, hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA, including post-ECC migration module deployments (greenfield, brownfield, or selective transition).
- Experience with peripheral systems integration to create successful end to end process, reuse data in multiple platforms like SAP Ariba, HRIS, BI, CLM, PLM, MES
- Demonstrated success by reducing customization and modernizing S/4HANA post Brownfield migration. Working directly with process managers to continue creating culture of CI/CD.
- Track record leading internal teams (10+) and governing AMS / managed-services partners.
- Strong architectural judgment and the ability to make and defend platform decisions.
- Demonstrated ownership of business outcomes (not just system delivery), ideally as a platform/product owner, with experience influencing strategy.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SAP Datasphere, SAP Business Data Cloud, or comparable modern data platforms, and enterprise integration (SAP Integration Suite / event-driven patterns).
- Experience embedding AI/agentic tooling into the SDLC (MCP-based integrations, AI coding agents).
- SAP certifications (S/4HANA, BTP) and project/program leadership credentials.
- Deep working knowledge of SAP BTP and clean-core / side-by-side extension strategy including platform cost management.
- Experience with SAP Project Systems (PS) or Commercial Project Management — particularly in project-based or energy/infrastructure environments.
- Experience governing Salesforce-to-SAP S/4HANA integration using SAP BTP Integration Suite or equivalent middleware.
