Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is looking for an Energy Storage Proposal Manager - This role is Remote.



The Energy Storage Proposal Manager will be responsible for delivering Battery Energy Storage proposals and contracts, ranging from $10M to $500M, as part of Mitsubishi Power’s Energy Storage business. Our offerings include integrated Energy Storage systems, EPC turnkey, and LTSA. This entails understanding of customer requirements, managing the proposal creation process, schedule, and customer and supplier interfaces as well as interface with internal Engineering, Sales, Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, Legal, and other teams. Understand contractual terms and work with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure our offer balances both Mitsubishi Power and customer’s needs. Organize and support the negotiation of contracts. Maintain all sales opportunities in CRM database with Sales and Commercial Operations teams. Develop tools and templates, as needed, to streamline internal processes.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Overall responsibility for delivering high quality Energy Storage equipment only and turnkey proposals and contracts
  • Responsible for RFP/RFI submittals to customers
  • Collaborate with other team members in the preparation and coordination of proposals and contracts. Equipment only, or EPC turnkey scope
  • Develop and validate cost estimates with high accuracy for multi-million-dollar utility scale lithium-ion energy storage projects. Cost estimates will include any or all of the following components: energy storage hardware, construction and installation, engineering development, site labor and expense, and transportation.
  • Support the Bid/No-Bid and Granting of Authority processes including presentations to Senior Executives
  • Work with subcontractors to gather technical and pricing inputs, and to align and negotiate T&Cs
  • Understand energy storage industry, product, application and market trends and align our offerings to win future orders
  • Maintain CRM database for all sales opportunities.
  • Develop tools and processes to enable speed, quality, and cost effectiveness. Identify and drive changes to internal processes
  • Expect 10-20% travel to visit potential customers, internal meetings, conferences, etc.


Experience & Competencies

  • Must have hands-on experience with creating and managing proposals for energy projects.
  • Prefer Lithium-Ion energy storage project experience in Utility scale
  • Must have experience with technical as well as commercial terms and conditions, contracts review and negotiation, and coordinating with Legal
  • Familiar with Equipment only, EPC turnkey, and LTSA scope and contracts
  • Familiar with cash flow, payment terms, performance guarantees, LDs, and other commercial terms.
  • Should be eager to learn, self-motivated and able to function effectively with minimum support
  • Must be sensitive and perform effectively in a multicultural environment

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Science and approximately five (5) to fifteen (15) years of experience
  • Technology/Product/Other knowledge and skills
    • Expertise to create and manage proposals for Energy projects, preferably energy storage
    • Engineered systems, and/or EPC expertise
    • Strong organizing and coordinating skills and attention to detail
    • Strong skills to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously with pressure of multiple project deadlines
    • Customer focused individual, capable of changing perspectives, problem solving, and adapting strategies
    • Ability to work closely with and influence cross-functional teams
    • Highly competitive, self-starter that can work both individually and, in a group, setting
    • Ability to effectively network and build beneficial relationships with customers, suppliers and peers
  • Communication and Language Skills: Ability to read and write detailed RFP’s, specifications, reports, procedures, manuals, and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, partners, customers and other employees of the organization. Strong written communications skills are a high priority.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have sound knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software (Excel), PowerPoint, and Word Processing software (MS Word), CRM software (MS Dynamics preferred).
