Role Overview
The Associate Engineer, Control Systems (Intern) supports the design, configuration, and testing of industrial control systems within Mitsubishi Power Americas. This role provides hands-on exposure to control system engineering activities, including HMI configuration, system testing, and project coordination. The intern collaborates with engineering teams to support project execution while developing foundational skills in control systems, problem-solving, and technical communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project engineering schedules, deliverables tracking, and action item management.
- Assist with control system configuration, HMI development, and system testing activities.
- Analyze technical problems, collect data, and support development of engineering solutions.
- Interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and procedure manuals for engineering activities.
- Participate in cross-functional communication within multidisciplinary teams.
- Support additional engineering and project activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents, diagrams, and engineering data.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and basic knowledge of engineering software and programming concepts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate within a team environment.
- Interest in control systems design, configuration, testing, and industrial applications.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25–50 pounds in industrial environments.
