Role Overview
Director of Thermofluids Engineering is responsible for leading the excellence of execution, continuous improvement, engineering deliverables, customer satisfaction, standardization, new product creation, engineering & design activities and proposal support. The Director of Thermofluids Engineering will also lead the enhancements in productivity, digital tools, workload management and resource management. This role requires a leader who has a dynamic strategic vision and can drive successful business outcomes for the engineering department.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
- Lead Thermofluids engineering teams to support proposals, project execution, standardization and product development of gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines and associated auxiliaries.
- Direct continuous review of programs/processes, formulate new ideas and improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency enhancements across the engineering teams and the organization.
- Create and maintain maps of all processes in the Thermofluids team and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Coordinate common processes and methods with other departments and ensure alignment.
- Provide monthly reports to the VP of Engineering and to NGS leadership.
- Ensure engineering deliverables exceed the expectations of internal and external stakeholders.
- Support new product development and standardization activities, in coordination with the New Product Development and Standardization teams.
- Lead manufacturing operational activities by providing technical document support for work and process instructions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Real Estate and or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
- 15+ years of experience in Combustion Turbine projects, specific to combined cycle system design and construction.
- 8+ years in leadership roles within field of construction, commissioning and power generation engineering.
- Ensure engineering teams attain and maintain compliance with ISO 9001 certification
- Manage Thermofluids cost center budget, while tracking budget changes and reporting variances.
- Maximize overall organizational productivity and efficiency using Continuous improvement engineering processes and digital tools.
- Mentor and manage the personal development of all Thermofluids engineering personnel, including performance management, hiring and talent development.
- Demonstrate ability to manage leadership of large-scale, multi-disciplinary teams.
- International EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) experience preferred.
- Ability to travel 50%
