SUMMARY

 

The Financial Business Analyst III will be responsible for building and operating financial models for power and hydrogen related infrastructure projects. This role will include analysis, evaluation and presentation of key infrastructure project financial results that will be needed by project stakeholders.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Review and gain a thorough understanding of project base financial models.
  • Update project financial models as needed.
  • Hold meetings with various team members to ascertain key inputs required for project financial models.
  • Provide model overview presentations with the project team to describe model functionality and source of key inputs.
  • Participate in project progress meetings to remain current on project needs and changes that affect the financial model.   
  • Perform dispatch modeling of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) equipment to perform competitive analysis.
  • Run financial models to support financing of key equipment.
  • Perform other such duties as may be required.
  • Travel: Possibly once a month for a few days.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university, at least five (5) years related experience and/or training. Experience in the power industry is a plus, but not required. Financial Modeling exp. a plus.

 

  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills: Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet (Excel), word processing and email software.
