Role Overview

The Fleet Risk Management Engineer supports the development and execution of the Fleet Risk Management Program, working to identify and mitigate risks with potential fleet-wide impact. This role applies engineering principles to evaluate technical risks and translate them into commercial implications, while also developing systems and processes to quantify, track, and manage overall risk exposure. The engineer collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to support investigations, implement mitigation strategies, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead structured fleet risk assessments and translate technical risks into business and commercial impacts.
  • Support development and implementation of mitigation strategies; track effectiveness across fleets.
  • Perform data analysis (FMEA, reliability trends, MTBF) to quantify and forecast risk impacts.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action planning for power generation systems.
  • Develop and maintain risk management processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project operations, legal, and commercial teams to drive program adoption.
  • Present risk insights, reports, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Support governance, reporting, and continuous improvement of fleet risk management systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Power Generation, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability, fleet engineering, risk management, or asset performance in the energy sector.
  • Strong understanding of combined cycle power plants and major components (gas turbines, steam turbines, generators).
  • Experience with risk modeling, statistical analysis, and engineering problem-solving methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and present to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP and project scheduling tools.
  • Preferred: experience with CAD (CREO/Windchill), Power BI, SharePoint, Oracle P6, or programming (Python, MATLAB, C++).
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10–20%.
