Role Overview
The Gas Turbine Standardization Engineer II position is responsible for having a full understanding of Mitsubishi Power’s Standard Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle new design practices / requirements. The purpose of this position is to use your Mitsubishi Power Technology experience to develop products and product details with the goals of reducing workload during project execution. The individual will act as a technical leader for Mitsubishi Power design process and use their knowledge to ensure alignment between all business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
- Own Mitsubishi Power standard Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle configurations, including multi-shaft and single-shaft designs, and maintain the JAC Standard Design Basis in alignment with current codes and standards.
- Create, maintain, document, validate, and manage standard products, configurations, design requirements, drawings, equipment details, and operating conditions using the engineering V Model and SPOT product management system.
- Lead change management for standard products and configurations while coordinating with Configuration, System Owners, Design Engineering disciplines, and Integration to ensure requirements, documentation, and P6 labor hours support standardization execution.
- Support the New Product Development Program, cost reduction, innovation, and continuous design enhancement using input from PGS needs and pain points.
- Coordinate with Proposals to ensure effective project handover and clear guidance regarding the standard products selected for each project.
- Partner with Supply Chain Management to maintain preferred and alternative supplier information and store standard supplier product details and drawings.
- Align the Standardization Division of Responsibility with the Estimations Division of Responsibility for standard plant designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Engineering from a four-year ABET-accredited college or university.
- 3-15 years of experience with Mitsubishi Power project execution and/or Mitsubishi Power technology.
- Practical understanding of Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle power plant design.
- Experience with combustion or steam turbine auxiliary system design and/or commissioning combustion or steam turbines is desired.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Ability and desire to learn new product management and program management software systems, including SPOT and P6.
- Dynamic leadership presence with the ability to speak to groups, lead through influence, work independently, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Self-starter with a desire to learn and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
