Role Overview
The HRSG Engineer III leads Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) engineering activities in support of proposal development and contract execution for combined cycle power plants. This role serves as a technical authority for HRSG specification, design review, and supplier coordination, working closely with applications engineering, project management, and global sourcing teams. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead development and review of HRSG technical specifications, performance requirements, guarantees, emissions criteria, and scope of supply documentation.
- Evaluate HRSG supplier proposals, drawings, and design data for compliance with Mitsubishi Power and customer requirements.
- Serve as HRSG technical subject matter expert during proposal reviews, customer discussions, and supplier contract negotiations.
- Coordinate with suppliers, overseas engineering teams, and EPC partners to support proposal and project execution activities.
- Support design reviews, performance evaluations, and resolution of HRSG technical issues, including site support as required.
- Perform other such duties as may be required.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in relevant Mechanical or Chemical Engineering discipline or technical diploma from college or university and 5 Years extensive direct experience in HRSG Design, Specification, or combined Cycle Power Plant is required. Experience with HRSG systems, combined cycle plant performance and ASME codes is desired.
- Ability to develop, interpret, and negotiate technical specifications, performance guarantees, and engineering documentation
- Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required.
- Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
- Minimal travel May be required – potential to visit project sites involving both domestic and international travel for up to 20% of the assigned work year.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
