SUMMARY
The Project Engineering Associate will assist the hydrogen production engineering and design teams in supporting the execution of technical projects. This role will provide the associate with exposure to the processes involved in designing, managing engineering tasks, working with project management, suppliers, and customers, and helping to integrate key aspects such as scheduling, purchasing, and technical requirements in a project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Project Engineering team in communication with the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) teams, Owner’s Engineer, and Customers on technical issues.
- Support the design and development of future Electrolyzer products.
- Help monitor project schedules, budgets, and estimates, ensuring tasks are on track and within project timelines.
- Support the coordination of inter-disciplinary workflows, assisting in communication across engineering disciplines to ensure timely project execution.
- Gain an understanding of the contract requirements and assist in helping translate these into engineering tasks.
- Participate in meetings with engineering partners to ensure proper communication and project implementation.
- Attend project meetings, supporting the team in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
- Assist in the review of equipment specifications and bid evaluations.
- Provide technical support to construction and commissioning teams, assisting with any necessary documentation.
- Support coordination with the Logistics Group to ensure equipment and materials are ready for shipment from a technical perspective.
- Help review and ensure that project documents and drawings meet contract requirements.
- Assist in the coordination with vendors/subcontractors and help with specification, bid analysis, and vendor selection.
- Track and report any design or specification changes and assist the Project Manager in assessing their impacts.
- Learn and familiarize with engineering codes related to Hydrogen Electrolyzers and auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to ASME, ANSI, AWS, API, ASTM, NFPA, and NEC.
- Assist in supporting other corporate functions as required, including Quality Assurance, Cost/Schedule tracking, and documentation flow.

- Education and/or Experience: Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil).
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Japanese language fluency or Spanish language fluency would be an asset.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: Knowledge of computer-aided design, database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
