Intern Supply Chain Expeditor Associate

SUMMARY

The Associate support s the Expediting team by monitoring, reporting and expediting material deliveries to MITSUBISHI POWER required delivery date(s) and keeps the internal and external stakeholders informed of material deliveries status. As well, the Associate will the SAP goods receipt process for all PO milestone invoices along with any other project invoice tracking activities.  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Support Expediting in the execution of the following to Ensure the Project Procurement Plan dates are met (i.e., Tech Spec released, RFQ issued, PO issued, etc.), expedites and escalates as necessary
  • Monitors Purchase Order Releases and follows up with vendors for timely and complete Monthly Progress Reports (MPR’s) submissions
  • Reviews MPR’s to baseline schedule to monitor for any schedule delays, relays information as necessary
  • Expedites parts and/or document deliveries to required dates, expedites late deliveries to bring back on schedule and escalates issues as necessary to the appropriate parties. 
  • Supports the Release to Pack and Release to Ship process
  • Support expeditor review of packing list items against the Shippable Bill of Materials (SBOM) and ensure suppliers are delivering complete and correct. Expedite outstanding items pending delivery.
  • Obtains Proof of Deliveries from vendors to support SAP Goods Receipt
  • Attend weekly Delivery Schedule Reviews with Project Team (as requested)    
  • Support Reporting/maintenance of OTD & OS&D reports (update & publish)
  • Support expeditors to closure of OS&D's (ie., parts and/or information).
  • Attend customer meetings upon request for Expediting and Material Control Processes
  • Confirm PO Milestones are met and Goods Receipt issues in SAP to support invoicing.

  • Education and/or Experience: Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) at a fouryear college or university and have interest in learning or exp. with supply chain, buying, selling, contracts, cost reductions or budgets. Bilingual Spanish/English a Plus but NOT REQUIRED.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, engineering drawings, engineering specifications for material, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and basic database. Must have exp. with MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel (Pivot tables, V look up etc.), Power Point.
  • Management Skills: Ability to effectively communicate job task, goals and projects to global sourcing
