SUMMARY
Leader for Fleet Risk Management is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a cradle to grave approach for identifying emerging risks with the likely potential to propagate across multiple projects / commercial contracts. The Leader for Fleet Risk Management reports to the Senior Director for Project Administration within the NGS Risk & PMO Department. The Leader for Fleet Risk Management will closely integrate their activities with key stakeholders and executives within the Power Generation (PG) team and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd, (MHI) responsible for the design, manufacture, delivery, commissioning, operation, service, and maintenance of MPW delivered information, equipment & material, and services under NGS commercial contracts. The critical aspect of this role is the early identification, mitigation, and elimination of critical risks that adversely affect the financial performance and/or reputation of Mitsubishi Power.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure Safety 1st and Quality are core values of all teams engaged in the design, delivery, construction, commissioning and testing of Mitsubishi Power supplied equipment and services. Set the tone, example and expectation that drives behavior and results built upon placing safe outcomes of each project at the forefront of each Project Team.
- Develop a systematic approach to identify emergent risks that have the potential to adversely affect multiple projects / multiple units as equipment completes design, manufacturing, delivery, site storage & handling, erection & assembly, start-up & commissioning, and commercial operation.
- Develop processes and tools to assess the impact of identified risks, and work with the appropriate design teams to develop mitigation plans and recommendations to first mitigate, and later if economically feasible, eliminate these risks.
- Develop cross-company strategies to pro-actively contain and control costs associated with the development and implementation of risk controls associated with identified Fleet Risks.
- Develop standard reporting and information sharing tools in an enterprise environment to maintain both situational awareness and coordinated risk control plans across PG and MHI stakeholders.
- Maintain a communication cadence to facilitate open and transparent information sharing across stakeholders.
- Work closely with NGS and PGS Finance management to develop agreement on risk control budgets. Implement each budget using standardized cost transfer agreements and timing to provide for effective forecasting and reporting of realized risk impacts across the NGS fleet of delivered products and services.

- Expect to work while travelling in both the USA and internationally ~20-30% of the work year.

- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Engineering, or Business Administration with experience in the Power Industry, or other related fields from a four-year college or university; and ten (10) plus years related experience. PMP certification or equivalent accreditation is strongly encouraged. P.E. certification is beneficial to the position. MBA, finance or procurement prior experience is beneficial to the position.
- Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office; familiar with SAP, project scheduling Knowledge of computer-aided design, database, project management, spreadsheet and word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
