Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. is looking for a Manager, Corporate Development.


This Role is Remote:  Preference to candidates based in New York City (Metropolitan Area), New Jersey, or Connecticut.



As a Manager on the Corporate Development team, you will be an integral member of a collaborative and fast paced team. Corporate Development sits within Mitsubishi Power America’s Finance organization and is the group responsible for working in close consultation with key business units to identify and execute on acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, partnership, and capital raise transactions. You will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of Mitsubishi Power and impact all our business verticals, with a key focus on energy transition. Specific responsibilities of this role will include evaluating and executing acquisition, JV /partnership, and investment opportunities, as well as participating in investor relations activity. You will work directly with executive leadership at both the corporate level and of our individual business units.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


  • Develop operational and financial models to support evaluation of M&A, capital raise and investment opportunities across Mitsubishi Power Americas business units
  • Participate in all aspects of deal execution including performing due diligence in coordination with internal and external team members
  • Support the Corporate Development team in partnering with business leaders to evaluate and execute on opportunities for growth, including incubation of new businesses, strategic investments, and corporate acquisitions in the energy industry
  • Assist in developing and managing M&A Pipeline management and corporate development process. Screen, analyze and summarize target list companies and prepare presentations
  • Analyze market data and evaluate industry landscapes including relevant competitors, industry economics, and market trends
  • Prepare investment memoranda, effective presentations and discussion materials to communicate investment and capital allocation recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Create and maintain presentations for investors, potential partners, and the executive management team
  • Conduct market research and analyze data related to Mitsubishi Power’s competitive strategy, products, and market position
  • Analyze internal data and support executive management in optimizing operational decision-making
  • Aid in research projects and valuation analysis related to Mitsubishi Power Americas and its peers using research reports, company filings and external database sources

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, business, or a related field.
  • 2 - 6 years’ experience in investment banking, project finance, corporate finance or corporate development roles in a major corporation, ideally in the power, utilities, industrials, infrastructure or energy transition space
  • Working knowledge of GAAP financial statements and an ability to build advanced financial models in excel
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure, adjust to varied workloads and handle multiple priorities, with a sense of urgency
  • Passion for financial markets and deal-making
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team
