Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is seeking a Material Master Data Specialist.


SUMMARY

The New Generation Systems (NGS) Business Excellence (BE) team is responsible for our NGS Strategic Process & Quality Improvement initiatives supporting our organization's vision and operational objectives.

Our BE team is currently looking for a highly organized and proactive Material Master Data Specialist to join our team and support our SAP Parts Material Master.

As our MM Data Specialist, you will be responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and governance of NGS Material Master Data in SAP. You will ensure that all material-related data—including Bills of Materials (BoMs), material extensions, and classification data—is consistent, complete, and aligned with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Procurement, Production, and IT to support operational efficiency and data integrity.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for NGS Material Master data governance working with stakeholders across the organization

  • Create and maintain material master records and Bill of Materials (BoMs) in SAP

  • Perform regular data audits, enhance data validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes to ensure high data quality

  • Conduct root cause analysis on data discrepancies and collaborate with system users and IT to resolve issues and prevent recurrence

  • Ensure compliance with data governance standards and business rules

  • Support the development of business dashboards and reports as needed

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for new materials and changes to existing data

  • Support new product introductions (NPIs) and engineering changes by ensuring timely and accurate data setup

  • Document data definitions, workflows, ownership, and training materials to support adoption and sustainability of material master data

  • Maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for material master data management

  • Participate in SAP projects, upgrades, and testing related to material master data


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field

  • 3–5 years of experience in data management or a similar role

  • Hands-on experience with SAP modules such as MM (Materials Management), PP (Production Planning), and BoM Management

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights

  • Highly organized self-starter with excellent attention to detail and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Clear communicator (verbal & written) with the ability to work cross-functionally

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and PowerBI

  • Familiarity with master data governance and data quality frameworks

  • Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes is a plus
