­Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is seeking an Operations Planner (Project Planner).

 

Summary

 

An Operations Planner is responsible for creating, maintaining, and executing engineering activities within Task Management System by working closely with Operations manager, resource manager and stakeholder to develop detailed schedules. Additionally, this role will take full ownership of supplier-related milestones within the task management system. This includes expediting and diligently following up with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of their project commitments. Attention to detail, teamwork, problem-solving, organization and planning skills are a must.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that outline project scope, objectives, timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables.
  • Assess and manage changes to project scope, schedule, and resources, and update project plans accordingly.
  • Create and schedule the release of engineering tasks to designated engineers.
  • Provide direct support to the department by organizing, collecting, analyzing, and presenting information related to our current & future projects.
  • Schedule coordination meetings for new projects released to Engineering.
  • Monitor and execute requests from the department’s work request system.
  • Review demand and capacity commitments in Primavera P6 for assigned work.
  • Confer with engineering management to resolve problems affecting engineering schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, addressing their concerns and expectations.
  • Maintain regular contact with suppliers to obtain updates on document delivery status, resolve issues, and keep all parties informed of information delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and expedite the supplier’s delivery of drawings and documents to ensure they arrive on time.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and regular updating of supplier’s delivery milestones schedule and the real-time status of each milestone within the task management system.
  • Responsible for onboarding new team members to the Task Management System including system setup and training.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in the supply chain and implement best practices to optimize efficiency.
  • Support the department and perform other duties as may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Education

  

  • Education and/or Experience:  Associate degree or equivalent and at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  3 or more years of experience in project management, either coordinating and/or assisting in small to large projects, the use of project management tools (Primavera P6 preferred.)
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).  Basic understanding of Project Scheduling software (ie, Primavera P6, Microsoft Projects, etc.)
