Role Overview

The Procedures Mechanical Engineer Level I plays a critical role in creating and ensuring the quality of procedures for Simple Cycle (SC), Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT), and Combined Heat and Power (CCHP) projects in both Multi‑Shaft and Single‑Shaft configurations. Reporting to the Procedures and Quality Control Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating, creating, and reviewing construction and commissioning procedures while ensuring high‑quality documentation and continuous improvement of procedural standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering methods and independent judgment to develop mechanical installation and commissioning procedures.
  • Review mechanical engineering designs including P&IDs, general arrangements, isometrics, foundation and structural drawings, and design philosophies.
  • Utilize knowledge of gas and steam turbine construction, including skids, modules, piping, valves, and structures.
  • Ensure mechanical systems comply with applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Coordinate with field engineers to clarify procedures related to Mitsubishi supplied equipment.
  • Interpret and apply codes, standards, and customer design requirements to prepare mechanical erection and commissioning procedures.
  • Verify documentation and design packages to ensure complete mechanical procedure deliverables and meet submission deadlines.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and support CAPA system administration.
  • Contribute to a collaborative work environment focused on communication, teamwork, and innovation.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or technical diploma; 2–4 years of experience in power generation, construction, or industrial operations.
  • Knowledge of ISO procedures, OSHA requirements, and scheduling tools such as P6 is beneficial.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and write technical procedures, reports, and business documentation; multilingual abilities (Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese) are valued.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, analyze information, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and analytical tools.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting 25–50 pounds and working in moderate to loud environments with hearing protection as needed.
