Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is looking for a Process Engineer.
SUMMARY
The Process Engineer is responsible for performing the process engineering design functions. These include the design of combustion and steam turbine auxiliary systems, process equipment, process control/instrumentation design integration and start-up support. The designs must meet contract and schedule requirements for MPW-A’s power projects in the Americas.
The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering Degree and 0-2 years of experience with an EPC firm or combustion/steam turbine OEM. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and can work with minimal supervision and possess effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare heat and materials balances, PFDs.
- Develop P&IDs.
- Develop process data sheets for both instrumentation and equipment.
- Understanding of process instrumentation and control principles.
- Perform and review hydraulic calculations.
- Control valve specification and selection.
- Heat exchanger thermal calculations.
- Pump sizing.
- Travel - Up to 10%
- Perform other such duties as may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited College or University and 0-2 years’ experience with an EPC firm or combustion/steam turbine OEM.
- Experience with managing P&ID’s, experience with hydraulic calculations, experience with heat and material balances is beneficial.
- A practical understanding of simple and combined cycle power plant design is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with Smart Plant P&ID, Aspen HYSYS, and AFT Arrow/Fathom is beneficial.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Technical Knowledge: Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid dynamics, P&IDs Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese language skills are not mandatory, but beneficial.
- Computer Skills: Advanced MS Excel, VBA Programming (not required but will need to learn VBA if hired)
- Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable speaking to groups.
