Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is looking for a Project Operations Associate (INTERNSHIP).
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
- MUST be currently Enrolled in a bachelor’s Program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Construction, Industrial or Computer Science Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Work Schedule: During School need to be able to work a minimum of 18 - 28 hours per week during business hours and can work up to 28 hours a week Max if a fit for the Student and During Breaks can be up to 40 hours a week as needed. (we will work around your school schedule and Finals).
- Length of Internship: 1 year minimum and could extend longer if a fit for the student and need to be able to commit to this time frame if selected.
- Must be able to start between June 9th – July 7th, 2025, and be able to work at the office.
SUMMARY
The Fleet Risk Management Program is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a cradle to grave approach for identifying emerging risks with the likely potential to propagate across multiple projects / commercial contracts.
In this role you will support the development of the Fleet Risk Management Program through the application of engineering principals, develop the process, systems, and data analysis methods to quantify identified risks. As the system & process is developed, support the creation and rollout of training to internal team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interest and understanding in Power Plants with application of engineering to Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, and Generators as well as their auxiliaries, valves and systems, secondary flows. Training and development on the construction and commissioning of a power plant will occur over the duration of the internship.
- Experiential learning of application of engineering to business with intersection of technical and commercial. Learning, professional development in corporate culture, presentation skills coaching, learning how to work in a team environment.
- Support Engineering team members for root cause investigations and evaluation of risk to the fleet with implementation plan.
- Work with Project Operations, Product Line Management and Engineering team members to develop and author work procedures for the individual steps of the Risk Management process.
- Perform data analysis for trending of operation, component life extension analysis and FMEA, component degradation evaluation, etc.
- Report creation and clean up and publishing to Product Data Management Systems.
- Assist and guide project management of tasking and review and report out to leadership.
- Confer with planning and design staff concerning product design and application of new products
- Perform such other duties as may be required from time to time by the company.

- Education and/or Experience: Student in a B.S. Mechanical, Aerospace, Construction, Industrial or, Computer Science Engineering program at a university.
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. Logically summarize inspection and work scope information for on-going projects.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Spreadsheet software, PowerPoint software and Word Processing software. Coding experience in Python, MATLAB, C++ is preferred.
- Preferred Computer Skills: CAD Experience in CREO/Windchill, Computer programming and/or Power BI, SharePoint, Oracle P6, Power Apps, Power Automate and/or MS projects. Coding experience in Python, MATLAB, C++ is preferred.
