Role Overview

The Project Planner Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting the Project Management team by providing detailed, accurate, and timely project schedules throughout the entire project lifecycle, from development to operations. This individual is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, performing critical path analysis, and incorporating resource and cost-loading data. The planner/scheduler also evaluates delays, identifies opportunities for improvement, and supports project execution by working closely with cross-functional teams to monitor and track progress. The position requires a strong understanding of project planning, scheduling software, and project execution to ensure alignment with project goals, cost control, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain logically linked project schedules based on proposals, contracts, and estimates
  • Create and update master schedules, tracking progress and identifying deviations
  • Perform Critical Path Analysis (CPA) to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Provide regular schedule updates and progress reports to stakeholders
  • Incorporate resource and cost loading to support Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and estimators to resolve scheduling issues
  • Prepare schedules for client presentations, kick-offs, and proposals
  • Monitor EPC performance, track milestones, and deliver independent progress assessments
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling requirements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in bid and proposal activities with schedule input
  • Travel to project sites as needed to provide on-site scheduling support
  • Adhere to physical demands and work environment requirements, including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 lbs, and working in moderate to loud noise conditions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of planning/scheduling experience in EPC environments for major power generation projects
  • Strong ability to interpret technical documents, regulations, and business publications
  • Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and presenting to diverse audiences
  • Advanced analytical and mathematical skills; ability to apply ratios, proportions, and interpret technical diagrams
  • Proficient in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
