Position Summary


The Project Planner Scheduler plays a critical role in supporting the Project Management team by developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules throughout the entire project lifecycle, from project development through commissioning and operations. This position is responsible for schedule development, critical path analysis, resource and cost loading, delay analysis, and progress tracking to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The Project Planner Scheduler works closely with project managers, engineers, EPC contractors, customers, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Develop logically linked project schedules based on proposal documents, contract documents, and estimate sheets
  • Create and maintain preliminary and master project schedules detailing work sequences throughout the project lifecycle
  • Track project progress against established schedules and identify deviations, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Provide regular schedule updates and assess performance against project milestones
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Engineers to identify schedule impacts, resolve issues, and mitigate project risks
  • Prepare proposal schedules and preliminary schedules for client presentations and project kick-off meetings
  • Incorporate resource and cost loading into schedules to support Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Perform Critical Path Analysis (CPA) to identify schedule risks, delays, and recovery opportunities
  • Act as a technical advisor on complex scheduling issues, providing recommendations and solutions
  • Assist Project Managers with schedule development, schedule segmentation, and schedule change management
  • Monitor EPC contractor schedule performance and track key milestones
  • Conduct document submission analysis to evaluate schedule impacts and develop mitigation plans
  • Prepare monthly progress reports and provide independent assessments of project schedule status
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling activities with internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in bid and proposal activities by providing schedule input for project estimates
  • Travel to project sites as needed to provide scheduling support during construction and commissioning activities
  • Attend project meetings with customers, partners, EPC contractors, and construction teams

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project planning and scheduling experience in an EPC environment
  • Experience supporting major power generation or large industrial projects preferred
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis, and project controls
  • Experience with resource-loaded scheduling and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software and project management tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to analyze complex project information and develop practical solutions
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, project schedules, and contractual requirements
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel required
