Role Overview

The Site Manager serves as Mitsubishi Power’s senior onsite representative responsible for overseeing installation, commissioning, and turnover activities for assigned projects. The role provides site leadership focused on safety, contractual compliance, technical advisory support, equipment protection, and coordination among EPCs, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The position acts as a key advocate for Mitsubishi Power’s commercial, technical, and safety interests while supporting successful project execution. 

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Mitsubishi Power’s senior onsite representative and ensure alignment with contractual, safety, and execution requirements.
• Promote compliance with all applicable safety regulations and ensure proper reporting and resolution of incidents and near misses.
• Protect Mitsubishi Power supplied equipment from improper handling, installation, operation, or damage.
• Identify, document, and resolve equipment delivery, installation, commissioning, and OS&D issues.
• Monitor potential EPC claims, schedule impacts, and liquidated damages exposure, and support mitigation efforts.
• Maintain detailed site logs, photographs, reports, and documentation to support project execution and contractual positions.
• Lead and support Technical Field Advisor teams while ensuring adherence to scope boundaries, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate technical responses to site issues with engineering, supply chain, project management, and global support teams.
• Provide technical advisory support during installation, mechanical completion, startup, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor EPC performance against turbine supply agreement requirements and communicate status to project leadership.
• Review extra work authorizations and back charges within delegated authority and escalate approvals as necessary.
• Support project planning, sequencing, scheduling, insurance coordination, and issue resolution activities.
• Travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, in support of project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction, commissioning, power generation, or industrial project execution.
• OSHA 30-hour training or equivalent safety experience strongly preferred.
• Fluent written and verbal English communication skills; additional language skills such as Spanish, Portuguese, or Japanese are beneficial.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management capabilities.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, contracts, procedures, and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and project management tools.
• Solid mechanical knowledge and ability to effectively collaborate with customers, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license and passport with ability to travel up to approximately 70%.
• Ability to work in active construction and industrial environments and meet physical job requirements.
