Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, Florida is looking for a Requirements Management Engineer.

 

SUMMARY

 

As a Requirements Management Engineer, you will be a pivotal team member responsible for developing and maintaining the tools and systems engineering processes necessary to analyze, document, and manage requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring the traceability of requirements, and implementing robust processes to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulations. The successful candidate will leverage expertise or train in the use of our requirements management environment, possess strong communication skills, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our development projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  •  
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop the infrastructure and systems engineering processes in a requirements management tool for managing requirements that drive product lifecycle management.
  • Provide technical support during the development of system elements, including clarification, correction, and improvement of system specifications.
  • Maintain a Requirements Management system within the engineering organization, facilitating the reuse of product requirements for future implementations.
  • Decompose system requirements from various sources for use by the design engineering team, providing essential actionable inputs for the design of individual system elements.
  • Establish and maintain traceability between requirements and design, testing, and validation activities. Ensuring that changes to requirements are documented and communicated.
  • Develop and maintain processes defining how requirements are captured and maintained for the lifecycle of a product.
  • Support impact analysis for new or changing requirements, participating in the system Configuration Management process, and supporting the Change process.
  • Develop and maintain processes dictating proper change management, validation and verification of the requirements, ensuring the final products meets the specified requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, global sourcing, PLM and sales. Facilitating communication between different departments to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Support ISO 9001 audits and compliance efforts, enhancing documentation and configuration control methods within NGS.
  • Work with team to facilitate other business process development in the Codebeamer environment as directed by business initiatives.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Maintain a high level of understanding of the core products and technologies delivered by Mitsubishi Power.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability and provide direction to peers and inexperienced engineers.
  • Perform technical analyses and produce detailed, concise, analytical reports.
  • Support Mitsubishi Power commercial operations, sales, and marketing functions with technical information as needed.
  • Generate ideas for product development by providing insights on how requirements impact product design and total installed cost.
  • Proactively improve tools, processes, and procedures of the Engineering team.
  • Actively participate in a working environment where teamwork, quality, customer service and innovation are emphasized.
  • Willing and able to work in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Each member of the group is expected to travel on business. Expected business travel is 5%-10% of the year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor of Science degree (BS) in Engineering from four-year college or university, and (4) four plus years of applicable experience; or at least four (4) years with Mitsubishi, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Subject matter expertise in other roles and engineering disciplines utilized in combined cycle pant design are not mandatory, but beneficial.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations in English language.  Ability to write, in English language, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Japanese, Spanish and Portuguese language skills are not mandatory, but beneficial.
  • Scientific Skills: Ability to work with core engineering design properties and understand the impacts of those properties on the design of industrial equipment.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, Acrobat Writer, Excel, etc.).  Knowledge of database development and management, project management, graphics, technical diagrams, flow charts, etc.
