Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is looking for a Senior Accountant.  This is a hybrid role.

SUMMARY

 

The Senior Accountant is an integral member of the Consolidations and Reporting team, participating in the accounting processes and controls over internal and external financial reporting.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Preparation of the month-end Consolidated reporting package.
  • Responsible for month-end close process and journal entries associated with leases, inter-company transactions, and general accruals.
  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of the Mitsubishi Power consolidated annual financial statements in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Oversight and monitor the documentation requirements for journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly analytical reporting including commentary on balance sheet and P&L variances.
  • Ad hoc projects as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting or Finance from four-year college or university, at least five (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have account reconciliation experience.  CPA required. SAP experience preferred. Intercompany experience preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. 
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of ERP systems, and accounting, database, manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, word processing and email software. SAP exp. preferred but not required.
