Role Overview


The Senior Director, Enterprise Technology Office is responsible for establishing and leading the governance, planning, portfolio management, operating cadence, and strategic execution functions that enable the Information Technology organization to deliver measurable business value. This role serves as the central point of coordination for IT strategy execution, demand management, portfolio governance, organizational performance, executive communications, and cross-functional alignment across the enterprise.

This position reports to the senior-most IT executive and leads the Enterprise Technology Office function, with accountability for establishing the operating mechanisms, governance forums, and performance routines required to run IT as an integrated business capability.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

Strategic Leadership and Planning

 

  • Lead the development and execution of IT strategy and long-range plans
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives and IT investments
  • Support enterprise digital strategy and transformation initiatives
  • Provide transparency into IT portfolio and investment prioritization

 

Portfolio Governance and Demand Management

 

  • Own and continuously improve the enterprise IT intake, demand management, and portfolio governance processes
  • Align on the design and execution of demand processes with the Business Integration team
  • Lead portfolio review forums and governance committees to ensure technology investments align with business priorities
  • Partner with Business Relationship Managers to provide Business Unit updates
  • Establish prioritization frameworks and resource allocation methodologies across Run, Grow, and Transform initiatives
  • Drive visibility into portfolio health, risks, dependencies, and delivery performance
  • Ensure consistent project, program, and initiative governance across the IT organization

 

Organizational Performance and Operational Excellence

 

  • Develop and manage the CIO scorecard and IT organizational performance metrics
  • Establish executive dashboards, key performance indicator reporting, and operational reviews
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on governance, planning, financial management, and execution effectiveness
  • Coordinate annual goal-setting, performance reviews, and organizational planning activities across IT leadership

 

Executive Communications and Stakeholder Engagement

 

  • Develop executive-level communications, presentations, board materials, and strategic updates
  • Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews with executive stakeholders
  • Ensure technology initiatives, risks, and achievements are communicated effectively across the enterprise
  • Facilitate executive steering committees and leadership forums

 

Program and Initiative Oversight

 

  • Provide oversight of the enterprise technology portfolio, ensuring strategic initiatives remain aligned with objectives, budgets, and timelines
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives requiring executive sponsorship and enterprise-wide collaboration
  • Monitor major program performance and escalate risks requiring executive attention
  • Drive accountability for commitments, decisions, and action items across leadership teams

 

Financial and Vendor Governance

 

  • Support IT budgeting, forecasting, investment planning, and financial performance management
  • Track technology investment performance and business value realization
  • Oversee vendor governance processes, strategic supplier reviews, and contract performance management
  • Partner with Procurement and Finance to optimize technology spending and vendor outcomes

 

Organizational Governance

 

  • Establish and manage governance forums, including:  
    • IT Leadership Team
    • Portfolio Review Board
    • Demand Review Committee
    • Technology and Architecture Steering Committees
    • Executive Technology Reviews
  • Ensure governance decisions are documented, communicated, and executed consistently

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Protect Mitsubishi Power Americas’ confidential and proprietary information and materials
  • Maintain accountability for commitments, decisions, and action items across leadership teams
  • Support cross-functional coordination and enterprise-wide collaboration
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of organizational objectives
  • Travel up to 10% throughout the Americas
  • Work onsite in Lake Mary, Florida. This position is not available as a remote opportunity

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Education

 

Required Experience

 

  • 10 or more years of progressive leadership experience in Information Technology, Project Management Office, Office of the Chief Information Officer, management consulting, strategy, or business transformation
  • Experience leading enterprise governance, portfolio management, demand management, or strategic planning functions
  • Demonstrated success supporting large-scale technology transformations and enterprise initiatives
  • Experience working directly with executive leadership teams and board-level stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of IT operating models, governance frameworks, and organizational effectiveness

 

Preferred Experience

 

  • Experience within manufacturing, industrial, energy, engineering, or field service organizations
  • Experience supporting ERP, CRM, data and analytics, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, and cybersecurity portfolios
  • Background in management consulting, enterprise transformation, or technology strategy
  • Experience building and maturing Project Management Office, Office of the Chief Information Officer, or portfolio management functions
