Role Overview

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Senior Project Planner Scheduler in Lake Mary, FL.  The Senior Project Planner Scheduler serves as a lead technical authority in project planning and scheduling, responsible for developing, integrating, analyzing, and optimizing complex project schedules across the full project lifecycle. This role goes beyond schedule maintenance and focuses on driving schedule strategy, risk identification, and recovery planning to support successful project execution.

The Senior Scheduler leads the development of integrated schedules across internal functions and external stakeholders (EPC contractors, Owner’s Engineers, and suppliers), ensures alignment with contractual milestones, and provides independent schedule analysis and recommendations to project leadership.

This role plays a critical part in critical path management, delay analysis, and Earned Value integration, while also mentoring junior schedulers and establishing best practices across the project controls function.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain integrated Primavera P6 schedules (Levels 1–4) that align with the execution strategy, including proper logic, sequencing, WBS/coding standards, realistic durations, and constraint management.
  • Integrate and align schedules across all stakeholders (OEM supply, engineering, EPC construction, commissioning), including interface milestones, dependency mapping, and schedule alignment/logic validation workshops with contractors and partners.
  • Protect schedule integrity and drive performance insights through critical path and near‑critical path monitoring, float/risk analysis, delay identification, and data‑driven mitigation recommendations.
  • Produce recovery plans and what‑if scenarios to address slippage and support decision‑making during execution.
  • Assess and validate contractor schedules against contractual requirements and project milestones, including monthly independent reviews of EPC credibility and performance.
  • Perform forensic schedule analysis (e.g., Time Impact Analysis/window analysis) to evaluate delays across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, and construction, and support claims documentation for project management and legal teams.
  • Support earned value and progress measurement by ensuring schedules are resource- and cost‑loaded, aligned to cost structures, and used to validate progress vs. actuals (including rules of credit).
  • Deliver clear reporting and executive communications (milestone status, critical path changes, risks, recovery actions), and present schedule insights in client meetings, monthly reviews, and leadership briefings.
  • Serve as the primary scheduling liaison across Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, EPC/Construction, and Commissioning to ensure alignment of schedule, cost, and execution strategy.
  • Coach and review the work of other schedulers by mentoring junior staff, reviewing baselines and updates for compliance/best practices, and contributing to continuous improvement in scheduling tools and methodologies.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, with 6+ years of project planning and scheduling experience.
  • Preferred experience includes EPC project environments, particularly in power generation, energy, or large-scale industrial projects. Experience in other industries will be considered if it demonstrates strong competency in critical path scheduling, schedule development, and project controls.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation, contracts, procedures, and regulations; prepare clear reports and business correspondence; and effectively present information to project teams, leadership, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate data, and draw sound conclusions across multiple variables. Comfortable applying mathematical concepts related to percentages, ratios, statistics, and geometry in practical project scenarios.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6, including baselining, resource and cost loading, and schedule integration. Solid working knowledge of project management systems, databases, spreadsheets, word processing tools, email, and visual/diagramming applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 20–25%, including domestic and international travel, as required by project needs.
