Mitsubishi Power Americas, Inc. in Lake Mary, FL is seeking a Smart Plant Administrator.

SUMMARY

The Smart Plant Administrator plays a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the SmartPlant software system to support engineering and construction projects, with a focus on data management, customization, security, and user support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Interaction:

  • Collaborate with disciplines to develop proper SmartPlant configurations.

  • Participate in regular meetings with project teams to ensure seamless execution of engineering deliverables.

  • Respond to technical inquiries from internal and external customers.

  • Ensure SmartPlant systems comply with corporate standards and requirements.

  • Contribute to the development of processes and procedures to support high-quality design packages.

  • Develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.

  • Maintain regular engagement with EPC contractors, customers, and affiliated companies.

  • Serve as a direct point of contact for customers.

  • Work within an integrated admin team to ensure consistency and continuity.

Development:

  • Support development and implementation of SmartPlant Enterprise (SPE) tools in an integrated environment.

  • Create and manage SQL queries for database maintenance and reporting.

  • Prepare tool-specific workflows, instructions, and user guidance.

  • Develop and implement best practices for database and security management.

  • Coordinate with external teams to minimize impacts on users.

  • Create training materials and provide instructional support.

  • Ensure integrated data design protocols are maintained.

  • Apply knowledge of industry standards to support discipline and client requirements.

Support:

  • Provide ongoing technical support to SmartPlant users.

  • Offer one-on-one mentoring and group training in SPEL/SPI tools.

  • Conduct onsite and classroom-style training sessions.

  • Troubleshoot and enhance tool functionality to align with business needs.

  • Maintain and build a helpdesk-based knowledge base for issue resolution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science; minimum five (5) years of experience in SmartPlant administration or a related field.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret industry reports and technical documentation.

  • Ability to write technical reports and correspondence.

  • Proficiency in presenting information to diverse audiences, including customers and executive stakeholders.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to perform calculations required to meet job demands.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to make sound technical decisions based on specifications and requirements.

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced IT and troubleshooting skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and database tools.

  • Familiarity with Product Lifecycle software, Power BI reporting, and document/drawing systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move items up to 25 pounds.

  • Work environment is typically office-based; may include time in engineering or industrial settings.

  • Use of standard safety equipment (e.g., safety glasses, hardhats) may be required in specific work environments.
