ROLE OVERVIEW

The Supply Chain Specialist provides support services for supply chain related activities focused on operational excellence, digitalization, and process improvement.

This role enhances operational efficiency and effectiveness through analysis and optimization of business processes. Responsibilities include leading digitalization projects, conducting process mining to identify improvement opportunities, and implementing solutions to streamline operations.

The Specialist collaborates closely with supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with strategic goals.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direction of the Head of Supply Chain Operational Excellence:

  • Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to analyze current supply chain processes.

  • Identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement using process mining techniques.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented process improvements, ensuring sustainable results.

  • Drive digital transformation initiatives within the supply chain through the adoption of advanced technologies.

  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to develop and implement digital solutions.

  • Champion the use of automation, AI, and data analytics to enhance supply chain visibility and decision-making.

  • Ensure alignment of digitalization projects with overall business objectives and strategic priorities.

  • Utilize process mining tools and techniques to visualize and understand end-to-end processes.

  • Develop reports and dashboards to track KPIs and measure process efficiency.

  • Work closely with supply chain teams to implement best practices and standardized processes.

  • Provide advisory support on process improvement methodologies and digitalization strategies.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions into existing workflows.

  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to build capabilities and awareness of process improvement and digital tools.

  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget, including the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and milestones.

  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Communicate project updates and outcomes to stakeholders, fostering transparency and alignment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EDUCATION

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) from a four-year accredited college or university.

  • Degree or concentration preferences include Engineering (all disciplines), Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Economics, International Business, etc.

Analytical & Process Skills:

  • Experience in process analysis, process mapping, or process mining in a supply chain or operational environment.

  • Ability to identify inefficiencies and implement data-driven improvements.

Digitalization & Technical Skills:

  • Practical knowledge of digitalization initiatives, automation, and analytics tools.

  • Experience with process mining software or digital project implementation is a plus.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to clearly document, present, and explain process improvement recommendations and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate percentages, growth rates, proportions, and other mathematical concepts.

  • Understanding of managerial/financial accounting practices is preferred.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and manage varying situations with limited standardization.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • ERP system experience (such as SAP) is an advantage.

  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills (Excel, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds.
Noise levels in the work environment may be moderate to loud; hearing protection may be required in some areas.
