Mechanical Quality Engineer

 

Overview

We are looking for a Mechanical Quality Engineer that will lead teams in audit programs, complex inspections on mechanical and structural power plant systems. You will play a key role in upholding engineering integrity and delivering quality results from procurement through final delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Solid understanding of Gas and Steam Turbine Auxiliary equipment, Heat Recovery Steam Generators, Selective Catalytic Reductive Systems, Pressure Vessels, Electric Generator, and Hydrogen equipment manufacturing for use in power generation.
  • Execute on Quality Assurance/Quality Control principles to maintain high-capacity utilization and optimize manufacturing and service operations ensuring product and service meets customer requirements.
  • Develop new Cross Functional Audits of new or existing suppliers.
  • Update and maintain NCR’s (Non-Conformance reports) QN’s (Quality Notifications) issued as part of the audit process from onset to corrective action implementations.
  • Review technical specifications for procurement to extract quality requirements.
  • Write quality specifications for mechanical and/or structural systems incorporated with the technical specifications.
  • Write, review, analyze and distribute inspection reports.
  • Review customer and supplier inspection/test plans, to assure proper witness or hold points are detailed and incorporated into Mitsubishi Power Engineering Plan.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field or equivalent hands-on work experience. ***2 years of hands-on experience is equivalent to 1 year of formal college education.***
  • 4+ years of experience as an auditor with international audit expertise.
  • 4+ years developing supplier audit programs.
  • Experience conducting in-process/final inspections on materials and products including structural weldments, machine components, mechanical assemblies.
  • 4+ years of work on heat recovery steam generators HRSGs and Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems
  • Understanding of major components for both HRSGs and SCRs and structures
  • Experience with regulatory compliance of pressure vessels as well as knowledge of ductwork and structural steel
  • Direct experience with mechanical systems; skids, pumps, fans, and other standard mechanical/structural systems
  • Solid experience with welding technology and industry standards, ASME, ASTM, CWB
