Role Overview
The Supply Chain Project Manager II is responsible for managing procurement requirements for gas turbine auxiliary equipment from the proposal phase through the end of the project warranty period. This role ensures contractual, budget, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved while coordinating project-specific procurement activities across internal teams, suppliers, EPCs, and customers. The position requires strong cross-functional leadership to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and compliance with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement requirements for gas turbine auxiliary equipment from notice to proceed through site delivery and warranty closeout.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, suppliers, and customers to meet schedule, budget, and quality commitments.
- Establish, track, and maintain project procurement schedules, material demands, and resource plans.
- Monitor project milestones, supplier production capacity, and delivery risk; develop and execute mitigation plans.
- Serve as the primary point of coordination for project procurement activities and information flow.
- Manage complex projects with commercial and financial risk while prioritizing multiple concurrent project demands.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize supply chain performance.
- Expedite suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Review and interpret contract terms, bid proposals, purchasing procedures, and policies.
- Maintain procurement records and provide reports, analysis, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to team members and, when required, supervise the work of others.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Eight (8) years of supply chain experience, or eight (8) years of technical experience with power generation equipment or power plant construction, or an equivalent combination.
- Demonstrated experience managing procurement activities for technically complex equipment and commodities.
- Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage schedules, priorities, and cross-functional interfaces.
- Working knowledge of procurement systems and tools including SAP, SharePoint, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, and Primavera P6 preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
